A song for Mom

Headphones resting on a kitchen table beside cut flowers in warm morning window light

On May 9, 2025, I made my first Suno song. I made it for Mother’s Day. The date and the purpose belong together, but the date was not the holiday itself. That distinction stays clean.

The song was “She Showed Me How To Love.” The title carried the subject plainly. This was my first Suno song, and it was for Mom.

I cried through the first four or five listens. First listen, then another, then another, with the same result through four or five plays.

That was when I learned it. AI plus real context could hit the soul. The important phrase is not AI by itself. The important combination is AI plus real context, because that is what the song demonstrated to me.

The song carried its own weight. It had a date, a purpose, a title, and the same response through my first four or five listens.

Then “Swing For The Fences” followed for Dad on June 14. One song for Mom on May 9. One song for Dad on June 14. The two dates hold the sequence.

I learned what context could reach. The same idea that made AI useful for work now appeared in music. AI plus real context could hit the soul.

The first song made me cry four or five times. That response belonged to one named song, made on one named date, for one named purpose.

My first Suno song was for Mom. That is the hinge. “She Showed Me How To Love” came on May 9 for Mother’s Day, and the first four or five listens brought tears. “Swing For The Fences” followed for Dad on June 14.

I made two songs for my parents on two exact dates. The first taught me that AI plus real context could reach beyond utility and hit the soul.
